The importance of data and analysis and what Context Claritas is about

I taught a class three times over the last two years, Professional Data Skills for the Workforce, and I started by asking the students how they interacted with data. Many could identify just how much data exists and where their lives intersected with it, but I was surprised at how many students said things like "I don't interact with data."

The truth is, you do! Whether it's something as simple as making a grocery list, to the fact that you're on the internet right now (and you probably have some kind of social media account), data is part of your everyday life. Often times, the question is what to do with that data.

This is where Context Claritas comes in. My goal is to help you understand data and how data intersects with your life, both personally and professionally. My hope is to make you a better data consumer, interpreter, and storyteller. Many people think that data is black-and-white, but reality couldn't be farther away. Context matters; the story matters. Making sense of the question, the data, the story--all this creates clarity.

And so, we're left with Context Claritas, clarity in context.
